Building Maintenance Director / Property Management
Managed the building maintenance program for a small corporation, at 14 addresses, totaling 94 residential units. Buildings ranged in size from single-family and duplex to multi-family 24-unit. Hands-on projects included major catastrophic reconstruction of historic buildings of mid-1800’s architecture, significant structural repairs, major electrical upgrades, major plumbing upgrades, incidental projects, both interior and exterior. Property management duties included leasing and evictions in both government subsidized and market rate housing.
Disaster Housing Operations Specialist / Housing Inspector
Inspector of disaster housing units and their siting and installation in a disaster area. Includes quality analysis and quality control of the work of U.S. government contractors and subcontractors. Multi-trade construction and siting experience required.
Construction based Community Education and Outreach
Five years experience as a disaster relief reservist for the U.S. Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). Provided public education regarding new construction and reconstruction practices in disaster areas. Provided information about flood insurance and flood mitigation practices, including construction/mitigation methods associated with other natural hazards like earthquake, wildfire, and tornado. Worked with municipal level government officials to promote the Federal 406 Mitigation program for public and municipal structures.
